Earn An Accredited Certificate in Customs Brokerage & Freight Forwarding

CBFANC & CITD are co-sponsoring a new on-line Accredited Certificate Program through Skyline College. Take these classes to earn your Certificate in Customs Brokerage, Ocean Forwarding, and Air Forwarding or apply them towards the upcoming AS Degree in International Logistics

The first class; Intro to Freight Forwarding & Customs Brokerage (BUS.249) is being monitored by long time teacher and licensed Customs Broker, Jack Kilmartin. Jack has been instrumental in various educational programs. We and we are fortunate that Center for International Trade Development received the funding to develop this program to benefit the trade and highlight our industry.

The additional modules needed to complete each of the certifications are coming on-line for this summer and fall semesters.

A student can follow three different paths or apply classes already taken and end up with certificates in all three areas; Customs, Ocean and Air. See the Curriculum page for a map of classes and more information on topics covered.

Courses are currently offered and are highlighted in the Business Section of Skyline College website and in the respective class schedules. It is easy for students to complete, however the curriculum is demanding and covers all the main areas of our trade. It is intended that a graduate will be ready to start right in - knowing all the basics!

We ask that every member supports this vital program to enhance the overall professionalism of our industry in three main ways:

1) By actively encouraging to take the classes and mentoring them through graduation through your day-to-day operations
2) Offer students internship and job shadowing opportunities
3) Hire graduates from the program
4) Encourage your employees to take these courses and become even better!
